   1. Consideration of Request to Issue Subpoenas (Education Code Sections 48919(i), 35146).  Discussion/Action
      The Board will consider a request to issue witness subpoenas in a student expulsion hearing pursuant to Education Code Section 48918(i).  Pursuant to Education Code Sections 35146 and 48918(i), the Board will consider the matter in open session because the student has requested that the matter be considered in open session.  Pursuant to Education Code Section 35146, “any discussion that might conflict with the right to privacy of any pupil other than the pupil requesting the public meeting or on behalf of whom such meeting is requested, shall be in closed session.”
