SUPERINTENDENT SEARCH
- Community Input
Ms. Reynolds welcomed Jake Abbott, search consultant from Leadership Associates.  As the meeting was in a workshop format, audience members introduced themselves.   Mr. Abbott reviewed the Executive Summary of information gathered from the Board, staff and community during recent interviews regarding the selection of the next superintendent.   He said that the process was an open one and that a good cross-section of the community was interviewed.  The Board will get a complete report on all information gathered, as will the new superintendent.  Mr. Abbott expressed optimism in Leadership Associates' ability to be successful in finding good candidates for the District.
- Brochure Mr. Abbott reviewed the draft brochure with the Board, with changes suggested and discussed.
- Motion: Brochure - M/S/C Khademi/Murphy (4-0) to approve brochure for superintendent recruitment, with changes made as discussed.
- Retreat Ms. Reynolds suggested that the Board hold a facilitated retreat with the new superintendent on June 6th, to discuss goals and roles in the District.  The consensus of the Board is to hold a facilitated retreat on June 6th, with consultant Jim Brown facilitating the meeting, at a cost of $2500 for the day.
- District Office audit Ms. Reynolds announced that the Community Financial Advisory Commission is doing an audit of the District Office regarding needs for the next few months, particularly in the business department.  There was discussion regarding a search for the new Chief Business Official and its timing.  Mr. Abbott recommended School Services of California as a resource in a search.  The Board will contact School Services and also requested that Leadership Associates prepare a proposal for consideration at its April 6 meeting.
