Special Meeting No. 15 - June 12, 2001
Minutes

Members Present: Jeffrey Freiberg, Len Gensburg, Monib Khademi, Paula Reynolds, Elizabeth Spencer
Administrative Staff: Barbara Young, Superintendent
CALL TO ORDER The Mill Valley School District Board of Trustees, acting as the Governing Board of the Mill Valley School District, met in special session at 2:30 PM on Tuesday, June 12, 2001 at the Mill Valley School District Office, 411 Sycamore Avenue, Mill Valley, CA.  President Gensburg called the meeting to order at 2:30 PM.
COMMUNICATIONS TO BOARD There were no communications to the Governing Board.
PERSONNEL- MS Principal Ms. Young recommended to the Board the appointment of Whitney Hoyt as Mill Valley Middle School principal.  Ms. Hoyt has extensive background with middle school-age students.  She has been a teacher, a counselor, a middle school assistant principal, and Assistant Principal at Tamalpais High School for two years and acting Co-Principal at the school for the past three months.
- Motion: Hire MS Principal - W. Hoyt M/S/C Khademi/Reynolds (5-0) to appoint Whitney Hoyt as Mill Valley Middle School Principal, effective July 1, 2001.
BUILDINGS & SITES - Purchase orders modernization/renovation The Board discussed items regarding renovation and modernization projects that had been omitted from the last meeting agenda.
- Motion: Purchase orders - PPM; Am. storage; Tam Equip't. Rental M/S/C Freiberg/Spencer (4-1, Khademi nay) to approve Purchase Orders: $14,700 for Predictive Maintenance Plan with Pacific Project Management; $3,864 for Edna Maguire furniture storage with American Storage; $3,422.60 for boxes from Tam Equipment Rental for moving during SB50 modernization project; contract extension with Pacific Program Management, not to exceed $152,878. 
ADJOURNMENT Mr. Gensburg announced that the next regularly scheduled board meeting will be at 7:00 PM on Monday, June 18, 2001 at the District Administrative Office and adjourned the meeting at 2:50 PM.
