MINUTES

| 1. CALL TO ORDER | The Mill Valley School District Board of Trustees, acting as the Governing Board of the Mill Valley School District, met in special session at 2:30 PM on Wednesday, June 12, 2002 at Mill Valley School District Office, 411 Sycamore Avenue, Mill Valley, CA. President Freiberg called the meeting to order at 2:40 PM and announced that this Special Meeting was called in order to address personnel matters. He also announced that Superintendent Young was out of town and that Mr. Swartz would arrive at the meeting momentarily. |
| 2. CLOSED SESSION A. Public comment |
Francisco Arango, who has worked in the District for several years, appeared before the Board to request a one year leave of absence from his classified position in order to attend an educational program and wishes to maintain his seniority. |
| B. Recess to Closed session | At 2:45 PM the meeting was recessed to Closed Session for the Board to consider and/or take action on Public Employee Discipline/Dismissal/Release, pursuant to Gov. Code §54957. |
| 3. RECONVENE/REPORT | Mr. Freiberg reconvened the meeting to Open Session at 3:14 PM and announced that no action was taken in Closed Session. |
| 4. PERSONNEL A. Personnel Action Form #0102-8; Arango leave |
M/S/C Khademi/Reynolds (5-0) to approve Personnel Action Form#8-0102, including approval of Leave of Absence for Francisco Arango for one year, effective June 21, 2002, with provision for a 30-day notification for intent to return prior to the end of the leave period. |

As there was no public comment, the meeting was recessed to Closed Session for the Board to consider and/or take action on Public Employee Performance Evaluation; Title: Superintendent, pursuant to Gov. Code §54957. |
| 6. RECONVENE/REPORT | Mr. Freiberg reconvened the meeting to Open Session at 5:45 PM and announced that no action was taken in Closed Session. |
| 7. ADJOURNMENT | Mr. Freiberg announced that the next regular Board meeting will be Wednesday, June 19, 2002 at 7:00 PM at Mill Valley School District Administrative Office and adjourned the meeting at 5:46 PM. |
