| A. CALL TO ORDER |
The Mill Valley School District Board of Trustees, acting as the Governing Board of the Mill Valley School District, met in special session at 4:00 PM at the Mill Valley School District Administrative Office, 411 Avenue, Mill Valley, CA. President Khademi called the meeting to order at 4:00 PM and announced that Ms. Murphy would be a few minutes late. |
| B. CURRICULUM / POLICY B.1. Science waiver; Public Hearing |
Mr. Khademi opened a public hearing regarding submission of a waiver petition to the State Board of Education regarding Full Option Science System (FOSS) materials for Grades K-5. Ms. Young reviewed the rationale for the waiver petition for science instruction materials. There was no public comment. The hearing was closed at 4:02 PM. |

| C. Res. #11-03/04: Intent to Seek Bids; Alto site | Ms. Harden reviewed the resolution regarding the District's intent to seek bids to lease the Alto School site, with the item at this special meeting due to the timing for the bid process. By approving now and getting the required public notices out, the Board can open the bids at its April 7, 2004 meeting. Discussion included rental price and the use of the site, with some changes made prior to approval. Ms. Reynolds recused herself from the discussion and action regarding this item, due to possible conflict of interest. |
| - Motion: Resolution; Intent to seek bids | M/S/C Freiberg/Swartz (4-0 Reynolds abstain) to approve Resolution #11-03/04: Intent to Seek Competitive Bids to Lease the Alto School Site. |
| D. Closed Session - Negotiations |
As there was no public comment, the meeting was recessed to Closed Session at 4:25 PM for the Board to confer with labor negotiator Bill Kay (Gov. Code §54957.6); employee organizations: Mill Valley Teachers Association and California School Employees Association - Ch. 360. |
| E. RECONVENE/REPORT | Mr. Khademi reconvened to open session and reported that no action was taken in Closed Session. |
| F. ADJOURNMENT | Mr. Khademi announced that the next regular meeting will be April 7, 2004 at 7:00 PM, and adjourned the meeting at 5:30 PM. |
