Seventh Grade Technology Content Standards

We live in a technological world which is in a constant state of change. As educators we are committed to teaching our students to become proficient, responsible and ethical users of technology. When technology is integrated into the classroom curriculum, students learn to use technology as a tool to improve productivity, research information, solve problems and communicate ideas.

Within each grade level students develop specific technological skills which include word processing, keyboarding, desktop management, multimedia presentations and internet use. These skills are integrated within each grade level curriculum to meet the 2nd, 5th and 8th grade benchmark standards.

Seventh grade students are expected to:

  • Apply strategies for identifying and solving routine hardware and software problems
  • Understand the impact of evolving technologies and their effect on society
  • Exhibit legal and ethical behavior when using information and technology, and understand the consequences of misuse
  • Use content-specific software and simulations to support learning and research
