If you only know one site for educational technology resources this is it for California schools. It consists of:

Teacher Centers:

Several companies and individuals have created resource based sites for K-12. A few are marketing oriented, but most are great. 
  • Education World - Where educators go to learn - this site is one of the best educational search engines around.
  • Classroom Connect on the Net -- one of the top sites for educational Internet links and K-12 resources.
  • Kathy Schrock's Guide for Educators -- an updated list of Internet sites for teacher development and curriculum use. This cape cod teacher has put together a lovely resource for all of us. Now sponsored by the Discovery Channel. 
  • Global Schoolhouse - Global SchoolNet Foundation has been distinguished for innovation and for powerfully demonstrating the potential of the Internet
  • The Well Connected Educator is the on-line publishing center and forum for the K-12 community to read, write, and talk about educational technology. Part of Global Schoolhouse.
  • PBS Teacher Connect -- Sponsored by the Public Broadcasting System, this site offers a wealth of resources for teachers
  • Cyber-Scout -- Macmillian publishers offers this service to K-12 teachers. You tell them the curriculum topic you are teaching, and they find you related web sites for use in the classroom. It's done by a human, so expect a week turnaround from inquiry to answer.
  • Computer Learning Foundation -- A non-profit group who sponsor an annual Computer Learning Month in October each year. They have a rich collection of proven class lessons using technology from previous years contests. Home of the Our Town project to get kids to author web sites about their own home town.
  • Apple Computer's Education Page --a fine collection of ideas, products and pointers for K-12 educators
  • Educational Technology's Top Ten - this site claims to have found the 10 best educational technology sites. Several duplicate the prior listings, and each jumps off to more resources than anyone can imagine!
