Uses
  Bromine is used as a water purification. It purifies the water making it safer to drink. It is also used in making engines run smoothly. It is used as a purple dye found in mussels. It was found in mussels and used as a dye long before it was known to be an element. Some other things Bromine is used for Flameproofing agents, water purification compounds, medicines, its used for photography, fumigants, pesticides, and its used to make plastics that are flame retardant.
Properties
  Bromine is part of the Halogen family. It is the only liquid nonmetal in the Halogen family. It is a dark red colored liquid. It is a terrible conductor of electricity. It isn't maleable at all. It is a heavy, volatile, mobile, dangerous reddish brown liquid.
History
  Bromine was discovered by Antoine J. Balard in the year of 1826. Bromine was discovered in France. The name comes from the Greek word Bromos meaning Stench. Bromine had much importance to people before it was known as an element. It used to be found in mussels and was taken out of the mussels to make a purple dye.
 
Health Issues When Bromine is spilled on the skin it produces painful sores. It is a serious health hazard, and maximum safety precautions should be taken while using it.
