What is Bromine?

Bromine is an extremely dense reddish brown liquid, number thirty five on the atomic table. Bromine is very toxic; if it comes in contact with your skin, it can badly burn you.

History

Bromine was fist discovered in 1826 by Antoine Jerome Balard.Bromine was found using brackish sea water and chlorinated water. When they were poured together, they isolated Bromine.

Uses:

Bromine is used for several different things. It's main use is in gasoline. However, it is also used to make film for cameras, dyes, pesticides, fumigant'. Our world would be much different without Bromine.

Toxic!

Bromine is very toxic. If it comes in contact with your skin, it can badly burn you. When being transported, it should be marked hazardous. If you inhale it, you should go to the hospital. It can badly disturb your respiratory system. When being handled, your should wear protective gear. Gloves, and a mask.

Properties:

Bromine boils at 58.78 degrees celcious.

Bromine's density is 3.13 g/cm cubed.

 Misalliance:

Bromine's vapor is so much denser than air that when you try to pour Bromine, the vapor will stick to the container.
