Our Vision:                 

We believe professional development is an ongoing process where teachers actively participate.  The Mill Valley School District allocates the time and resources necessary to meet the needs of individual teachers by providing a range of professional development opportunities. These include collaborating, observing colleagues, participating in training, analyzing data, and learning from research and experts in the field. Time for reflection on teaching practices and opportunities for dialogue and questioning are integrated into the routine organization of the school work day and year.  Teachers are valued as leaders. 

Components of the Professional Development Plan:

• The District provides opportunities for teachers to learn from one another

• The District develops school and district leaders

• Analysis of data and research drive staff development

• Staff development improves the quality of teaching

• Staff development supports all kinds of learners

• The District allocates sufficient funds to support staff development
