                                           STRATEGIC PLAN UPDATE

The District, through the Board of Trustees and a strategic plan core team, developed four strategic plan goals to accompany the District’s Mission.  This has occurred by way of community and staff feedback meetings; and by way of a dedicated and diverse core team.  The goals have been influenced by their work and the input of our learning community; the 2002-2007 strategic plan; the 2006 Board Goals; and current and on-going projects and initiatives within the District.

Also influencing the core team’s work has been the ‘best practices’ research conducted by Jim Collins, author of Built To Last, Good To Great, and Good To Great And The Social Sectors.  The latter monograph has been of particular interest to the core team as it reflects the work we do in the non-profit public and private arenas.  You can learn more through any of these books or by visiting Mr. Collins’ website www.jimcollins.com.  You can also follow the work that has been done on the strategic plan on our website.

The three-year plan was approved at the November 14 School Board meeting.
