District
to Renew and Refresh Current Strategic Plan Parents,
community members and staff have been invited to participate in the development of the
District’s three-year Strategic Action Plan.
The foundation of the new plan will be the current District
Goals, adopted by the Governing Board in January of 2006; and elements
of the current Strategic
Plan which finishes its five-year implementation at the end of
the 2006-07 school year. To guide its major initiatives for the next three years, the Board is expected to approve the updated strategic plan in November of 2007. The 2002-2007 strategic plan and various other projects of the District have provided guidance to a core team of trustees, staff, parents and community members over the past several months and included community feedback meetings this past spring. Strategic Planning Meeting Notes (Arranged chronologically)
Three
Community Input and Feedback sessions were held in May 2007 at the Mill Valley
Middle School, Strawberry Point School, and Tam Valley School. Additionally,
the community is encouraged to send any input and feedback directly to the Governing
Board and administration. E-mail:
The
2007 Core Team is comprised of District staff, community volunteers, and Board
members who will guide the planning process and assist the Board in creating the
large scale goals under which action plans will be built and carried out.
The Board has expressed a desire to be certain that the goals are
ambitious, ‘do-able’, and have the necessary resources attached to them so
as to better ensure success. Additionally,
the Core Team will act as a group to periodically review the progress of the
plan and provide annual reports to the Board.
Refreshed Strategic Action Plan The 3 year refreshed Strategic Action Plan will be a focused “action plan”. In addition to the current Board adopted goals and the 2002-2007 Strategic Plan, the following committee work and District documents will be considered:
