The Reading and Math Program is designed to give extra support to students who are not meeting the District standards in Reading or Math. Our Reading and Math Specialist, Liz Caroli, works with individual children, in small groups, and in the classrooms, to reinforce reading and math skills and to assist students to meet grade level standards. Mrs. Caroli provides support through teaching methods such as Reading Recovery, Guided Reading, and TERC math, using leveled reading books, manipulatives, games and regular classroom work. The program not only focuses on raising the skill level of the children, but also on raising their confidence and enjoyment of learning. |
