The following are the "big ideas" that are presented to 4th grade students throughout the year as they work with technology.  

• Technology can be defined as a problem solving process based on satisfying a need in a practical way. It is human innovation in action! (ISTE)
• Technology is about many things, not just computers.
• Technology is connected to other subjects and to things we do outside of school.
• There can be many different approaches to solving a problem in technology.
• "Creative Floundering" means when you are learning something new, allow yourself to...

• If we don't know how to solve a problem right away, we can figure out a way to do it. We can help each other do and learn technology.
• Power is in the idea of implementation and what you do with the technology.
• The goal of using technology is to support existing curriculum and to develop best practices for using technology to enhance teaching, learning, and communicating.
• The Lab provides students with increased opportunities to engage in project-based learning supported by multimedia.
• We are ordinary people doing extraordinary things. We can create our own technology projects and everyone can be successful in the Lab.
• This is not the end...the adventure is just beginning!
