Welcome to WEB @ Mill Valley Middle School!WEB, which stands for “Where Everybody Belongs” is a middle school orientation and transition program that welcomes 6th graders and makes them feel comfortable throughout the first year of their middle school experience. Built on the belief that students can help students succeed, the program trains mentors from our 8th grade class to be WEB Leaders. As positive role models, WEB Leaders are mentors and student leaders who guide the 6th graders to discover what it takes to be successful during the transition to middle school and help facilitate 6th grade success.
This year, 6th Grade Orientation will be held Tuesday, August 17th.
Orientation will be "hybrid" orientation in two parts:
Part 1, 8:30am-9:00am: All 6th Graders will watch a “WEB Welcome Video” below. They will watch this video at home.
Having trouble viewing the video above? Watch from Google Drive here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1RWz_YJB7mxW1FPi1yrGKDrtWZF-UhDxY/view?usp=sharing
Part 2, 9:30am-12:30pm: WEB Leaders will be on campus stationed at a table that corresponds to their WEB Groups. These tables will be outside, socially distanced, and masks will be worn by all people on campus to ensure the safety of all involved.
After watching the Welcome Video at home, 6th Graders will arrive on campus during a 20 minute time slot, alphabetically by last name, and will be directed to the table that matches their WEB group. Please reference the following table to know when to arrive on campus:
There, they will be greeted by their WEB Leader, pick up their folder and schedule, fill out an informational card, and play a short socially-distanced game. After visiting campus, 6th graders will receive a follow up email from their WEB Leaders to further connect with and receive support from them.**As Orientation Day approaches, more information regarding the Orientation Day Schedule, how to access the Welcome Video and alternatives for those who cannot attend in person will be sent via Parent Square and this website.**This program is supported by the MVMS PTSA and WEB team fundraising activities throughout the year.Any and all WEB Questions can be directed to:Julia Varboncoeur: email@example.comJason Souza: firstname.lastname@example.org
