Darren Smith is the director of the 5th grade band. Please contact Darren at (dsmith@mvschools.org) if you have any questions. I will be co-teaching the Wednesday Beginning Band practices at MVMS with Darren.Required Materials:
Beginning Guitar- Hal Leonard Guitar Method Book 1/ acoustic guitar (no electrics)/ pick (1.5 mm)/ extra strings (especially 1st string E)/ capo.Music Technology- no materials requiredAdvanced Guitar- Hal Leonard Guitar Method Book 2/ same as above
Intermediate Band- You will need to own a copy of the Standard of Excellence book 1 and book 2 (enhanced version). The Magic Flute should have these in stock, but you may want to call ahead.Advanced Band- You will need to own a copy of the Standard of Excellence book 2 (enhanced versions if available). The Calendar is Subject to Change!!! Please check back occasionally for updates. We will wear our music dept. shirts and khaki pants to all performances. Contact me if you need to purchase a shirt or would like to borrow one for a performance. I also have a limited number of khaki pants to borrow.No in-person performances will be scheduled until it is safe. We will have a virtual perfomance and I'll let you know the date as soon as it is determined.
