    Dear First Grader and Family,

Welcome to the first grade! I hope you had a wonderful summer vacation. I am excited to be your teacher this year! I know that our year together will be a lot of fun. We will be doing lots of reading, writing, math and other fun learning activities. We will also sing songs, play games and go on exciting field trips!

Our first day of school is Thursday, September 1st. The school day begins at 8:30 a.m.. You may come in at 8:25 to look around your classroom before we begin. Our day will end at 2:50 p.m..

I am attaching a list of supplies which you can bring with you on the first day of school. Please put all items in a ziploc bag labeled with your name. You do not need to label each individual item. You will also need to bring your backpack which should contain a healthy morning snack and a lunch labeled with your name. You will have a special place to put all of your things. I will show you everything when you come.

If you would like to meet me and see your classroom before school starts, you may come to room 1 on Wednesday, August 31st. I will be there from 1-2 p.m..

I can’t wait to learn more about you and the things you enjoy! I look forward to seeing you soon.

    Your teacher,

    Mrs. Stachon

    Room 1 Supply List

Below you will find a list of supplies for your child to bring to school with them on the first day of school. You will notice that we have included a very specific list of brands and styles of supplies that we would like your child to have. We are doing this so that every child has the exact same type of supplies to encourage consistency in our supplies among the first grade classes. We ask that you please follow the list provided and send in only the brands that are listed below. Please do not label any of the items, as we will be sharing everything. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.

    · Pack of 8 Crayola crayons

    · 1 box of Crayola thin markers (classic colors)

    · 1 box of Crayola thick markers (classic colors)
