While middle school is an exciting time for students, it can also present some challenges especially when it comes to managing time and completing homework in multiple classes. One of the ways in which we keep students organized is by utilizing the Thursday Audit.
The audit is a standing appointment where your child meets with all academic teachers and reflects on the week’s performance and gets a heads up on upcoming assignments. It is not, however, a time to work one-on-one with teachers - that must be arranged separately through scheduled appointments after school or during Panther Time.
Each Thursday your child will go around to all of his/her teachers after school and have them fill out an audit page noting what homework, if any, is missing. Offering consequences and rewards at home helps ensure the audit gets done as we do not have a way of reminding students to complete the audit individually. In order to remain on the Audit we must have parent participation and encouragement at home, weekly parent signatures and reliable attendance by the student.Click here to print additional audit pages from home.
