Leslie Wachtel, President - Leslie Wachtel joined the Board in 2011. She was President of the Board in 2013, 2015 and 2017. Leslie and her husband Ken have lived in Mill Valley since 1984 and have raised their four children in Mill Valley. She has been an active volunteer in schools for over 25 years serving on the boards of Tamalpais/Strawberry Preschool (President for 1 year), Old Mill Elementary School PTA (13 years including 4 years as President), Southern Marin PTA Council (President), 16th district PTA President (Marin County), Kiddo! (Board Member for 10 years including 3 years as board chair), Tamalpais High School PTSA (Board for 7 years including 3 years as President), Tam High Foundation (Board Member for 7 years including one year as Chair). Leslie continues to volunteer at Tamalpais High School, offering tours of the school to prospective families. Leslie also has served on the Friends of the Redwood's Board and The Redwood's Board. Leslie served as Vice Chair on The City of Mill Valley's Traffic and Congestion Reduction Advisory Task Force (2015-2016). Leslie graduated with a B.A. in Fine Arts from Santa Clara University.Marco Pardi, Vice-President/Clerk - Marco Pardi lives in Mill Valley with his wife, Maureen and three children where they have resided since 1997. Marco has been active in support of public schools for many years including participation in 3 successful Mill Valley school parcel tax campaigns and a bond measure where he ran fundraising for the most recent two campaigns. Marco was a member of the Citizen’s Oversight Committee from 2009-2013 for the 2009 Bond Measure. Marco has also been active in the local youth sports programs as a volunteer head coach for Mill Valley Soccer Club and the Mill Valley Little League for many years and served one year as the AGC (Age Group Coordinator) for MVSC. Marco is currently the Managing Director at media and communications company UBM LLC where he runs the technology group of events and digital media. Marco holds a B.A. in Economics from University of California, Berkeley.
Bob Jacobs, Trustee - Bob Jacobs has been a resident of Mill Valley since 1976 with his wife Paz and their two children Ian and Hilary. Bob's children both attended the Mill Valley public schools. Bob graduated from the University of California in 1965 with an AB in Zoology. Bob was a high school Biology, Physiology and Environmental Problems teacher for twenty-one years at South San Francisco High School and Zuni High School on the Zuni Reservation in New Mexico. Bob taught eighth grade General Science at Santa Rosa Junior High and Life Science at Mill Valley Middle School for nineteen years. Upon retirement in 2010, Bob ran for the Mill Valley School Board and has been a trustee since 2011.Todd May, Trustee - Todd May has lived in Mill Valley since 2010 with his wife and two daughters, who both attend schools in the Mill Valley School District. Todd began his involvement with the District in 2011/12 when he joined the Community Financial Advisory Committee and became a Trustee in December of 2013. Todd and especially his wife have enjoyed coaching their daughters’ sports programs, and spending time hiking and running in the area.Emily Uhlhorn, Trustee - Emily and her husband, Bryan, have two sets of twins and moved to Mill Valley 10 years ago because of its small-town sense of community and excellent schools. The younger set of twins attends Park School and the older attended Park, graduated from MVMS, and are now at Tam High. Before having kids, Emily obtained a master's in special education and had a private practice working with children with learning differences. Since having kids, Emily has been a stay-at-home mom and has volunteered extensively in the classroom, on PTA Boards, Site Councils, as a basketball coach, and at the district level. She co-chaired the successful Measure B and Measure E campaigns and has served on the Community Financial Advisory Committee. Emily also serves on the SchoolsRule-Marin Board and is active in the Mill Valley Rotary, running community service groups at both MVMS and Tam High. She was elected Trustee in 2018.
