     December 2010

At its December meeting the School Board discussed and approved the 2010-11 Budget revisions including the impact of the State Budget Act and the First Interim financial reports.  The First Interim reflects the District's financial and budgetary status as of October 31, 2010.  The multiyear projections are an important component of this report.  The key assumptions for the current and subsequent two years are that property tax revenue is expected to be 1.56% less than the prior year and 0% anticipated property tax revenue growth for 2011-12 and 2012-13 coupled with projected enrollment growth increases of over 100 students each year.  The State Budget is uncertain and the District will continue to monitor key economic indicators, including the consumer price index (CPI) and State Unemployment rates as it relates to the multiyear projections.
