Distance Learning During School Closure
Office Hours:
During distance learning, I am available each day of the week from 1:15 - 2:50 via email or telephone. Students have the option to visit me in a Zoom meeting during these “live” office hours for any reason. They can be used for check-ins, receive clarification on assignments, ask questions about content, or just to say hello. The links to these Zoom office hours are posted in Google Classroom. Please email me if you'd like to schedule a time to have a Zoom meeting.
Assignments:
Assignments are a combination of articles, textbook readings, videos, and podcasts and cover different topics in the fiollowing areas: the history of the United States, the structure of the US government and Constitutional issues, the Presidential election and other down-ballot elections, and the Black Lives Matter movement. Students will be asked to read an article, watch a video, or listen to a podcast and then answer some questions on a worksheet or complete a writing activity. Zoom time will be used for class discussions and small group discussions in breakout rooms, as well as teacher lead lectures or recorded videos.
Google Classroom:
All assignments and necessary information including links will be posted on Google Classroom. Students must an attachment of their work to the assignment post in order to receive credit. This allows me to view their work and provide necessary feedback.
