Anna Lazzarini, Principal, has always believed that before students can learn, they need to feel welcome and safe at school and in the classroom. Ensuring that we address the social emotional needs of students is just as important as ensuring that we are offering a challenging, rigorous, and supportive academic program. Both of these areas need to be a priority in order to have MVMS continue to be a high performing school by all measures. Supporting students, staff, parents and the MVMS community by building positive relationships is also important and, in that vein, Ms. Lazzarini believes that we need to work together to make positive changes wherever needed.
Ms. Lazzarini has been a member of Mill Valley Middle School since 1994. She began her career at MVMS in a special education classroom before becoming an English Language Arts and Social Studies teacher in 1996. In 2005, she became the Assistant Principal and has been the Principal since 2011. She is dedicated and committed to continue to do whatever is needed to ensure MVMS continues to be a great school for students and staff and the Mill Valley community.
Anna and her husband have lived in Mill Valley since 1981 and have three children that went through the Mill Valley schools. One of her top priorities outside of work is to spend quality time with her husband, adult children and their spouses, and their grandchild. She has always believed that building strong family memories is the most precious gift we can give our children.
