Welcome to the 2025-2026 school year.!
Please accept my warm and enthusiastic welcome to the Mill Valley School District, whether you're returning, or joining the Mill Valley school community for the first time.
Our teachers, staff, and administrators have been working diligently to prepare for the year ahead, and we are committed to providing every student with a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment in which they can thrive. You will see facility improvements at Strawberry Point and Tam Valley, with plans for Old Mill and Park next year
This year, we are especially excited about several new initiatives, including our work to define Mill Valley’s Portrait of a Graduate. This effort will help us identify the skills, mindsets, and competencies our community values for all students to be successful, not just in school, but in life beyond the classroom. It will serve as a shared vision for student success and guide our programs, instruction, and future planning.
At the elementary level, we’re entering the second year of implementing CKLA and expanding the use of common literacy and math assessments. At the middle school, we’re thrilled to introduce a new administrative team and begin cultivating an even stronger Panther Proud culture. Together, we’ll also be imagining a bright future for the campus itself, as we look ahead to a possible new or renewed facility.
You, our parents and caregivers, play a vital role in creating and maintaining strong partnerships between home and school, partnerships that are essential to student success. We invite you to stay connected, get involved, and reach out with any questions or ideas you may have throughout the year.
In September, you will see invitations to apply for our district Portrait of a Graduate Design team, but for now, we are hoping that you and your family will hold the date to join us for the City’s 125th anniversary parade which will begin at 9:45 a.m. at the Mill Valley Middle School (more info to come soon).
Above all, our goal is to ensure that every student, and every adult working with our students, finishes each day feeling happy and proud of something they’ve achieved, no matter how big or small.
Thank you for your continued trust and support. Let’s make this school year our best one yet!
Elizabeth
