Integrated Pest Management Plan

The Healthy Schools Act establishes important safeguards to protect students, staff, and the broader school community from unnecessary exposure to pesticides on school campuses. In accordance with this law, any school district that uses pesticides not defined in California Education Code Section 17610.5 is required to develop and implement an Integrated Pest Management (IPM) plan.

This Integrated Pest Management (IPM) Plan outlines our district’s comprehensive approach to preventing and managing pests in a manner that prioritizes health, safety, and environmental responsibility. Whenever feasible, the district emphasizes non-chemical prevention strategies such as sanitation, exclusion, and habitat modification. When pesticide use is deemed necessary, only the least hazardous and most effective materials are selected and applied in strict compliance with state regulations.

Consistent with the Healthy Schools Act, our district maintains this IPM Plan on our website to ensure transparency and accessibility. If a website is not maintained, the IPM Plan is included with the annual notification provided to all staff and to parents or guardians of enrolled students. Through this proactive and preventive approach, our district remains committed to maintaining healthy learning environments while meeting all legal requirements.
