What A Year It Has Been!

There is so much to celebrate, and I want to pass along my gratitude for the many ways our community has made a difference in our schools.

Measure E: Our Community Shows Up

This spring, you showed up and it made all the difference. The optimistic results from the Measure E parcel tax renewal are a powerful testament to the trust our community places in our schools. This is what makes Mill Valley special: when our students need us, we come together. Thank you!

Breaking Ground on Something Big

Get ready! A groundbreaking for our new middle school is on the way! With agency permits now in process, we are closer than ever to making this long-awaited vision a reality. This is an investment in the future of every child who will walk through those doors, and we cannot wait to celebrate this milestone with you.

Families at Old Mill and Park School also have something to look forward to this summer, as both campuses will benefit from exciting facility improvement projects. Our students deserve beautiful, modern spaces to learn and grow, and that's exactly what we're working toward.

Big Transitions, Bright Futures

Growing Our Youngest Learners: We are so excited to introduce three new Transitional Kindergarten classrooms to our team! With twelve TK classrooms now district-wide, we are reaching more of our youngest learners than ever before and giving them the strong, joyful start they deserve.

Celebrating Big Transitions: To our eighth graders heading to high school, we are SO proud of you! You have risen to every challenge and you are ready for the incredible journey ahead. And to our fifth graders stepping into middle school, get excited, because amazing things are waiting for you. Watching our students grow and move forward is one of the greatest joys of this work.

World-Class Programs, Wonderful Partners: Thanks to the incredible generosity of Kiddo!, the support of PTA, and the momentum of state grants, our students continue to thrive in arts, music, coding, and STEM. These aren't extras, they are essential to a rich, well-rounded education, and we are so grateful to the partners who make them possible year after year.

What Drives Us Every Day?

Everything we do comes back to one shared goal: giving every student an extraordinary education in a supportive, caring environment. Small class sizes. Outstanding academic programs. Strong social-emotional and behavioral support. And a team of educators and staff who are among the best-compensated in the county because they are simply the best.

None of this happens without you. Thank you for being such engaged, passionate advocates for your children and this district. It is the honor of a lifetime to serve this community alongside you.

Here's to a wonderful summer, and an even better year ahead!

Mill Valley Middle School Modernization Project Update

Construction Of Interim Campus To Begin June 15, 2026

As part of the Mill Valley Middle School modernization project, construction of the interim campus will begin on June 15.
The interim campus will be located in the current staff parking area and will house students during renovation of the existing middle school.

Initial work will include site preparation, installation of construction fencing, utility work, removal of asphalt, site grading, and delivery and installation of portable classrooms and support facilities. Environmental controls, including air monitoring, will be in place during all soil disturbing work.

Work hours will be Monday through Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., with weekend work as needed.

Temporary Closure Of The Harrison Skate Park

The Harrison Skate Park will be temporarily closed from late June through early August while fencing is installed and site preparation work is completed for the interim campus.
The City and School District explored options to keep the skate park open during construction. Unfortunately, safety and insurance requirements associated with adjacent construction activities require temporary closure.

We understand this may be disappointing and we appreciate the community's patience. The skate park is expected to reopen in early August.

During the closure, the nearest public skate parks are:
  • Scotty Lapp Memorial Skatepark, Pixley Avenue, Corte Madera, CA 94925
  • McInnis Skatepark,  310 Smith Ranch Road,  San Rafael, CA 94903
