Devices: The district provides a 1:1 iPad program. Students in grades K–5 are issued iPads for school use only, while grades 6–8 may take devices home.  On district iPads, the content is managed; only assigned apps can be installed.  Projectors with screens or large TVs, both outfitted with AppleTVs, are used for presentations in classrooms. Teachers are assigned MacBookAir laptops and iPads for use when teaching. Teachers may use additional resources on their devices to supplement district curriculum.  We also provide device management and security with Jamf Software, and online safety and content filtering with Securly.

  • Technology based tools are typically selected in one of two ways.  First, they are embedded in the district-adopted curriculum as ancillary resources for functions like assessment or providing individualized support for students (Amplify CKLA online materials or TCI online social studies curriculum).  Second, they are prioritized by staff as additional resources to support student learning through our annual survey of teachers regarding instructional software (iXL Math).  Some resources like Amplify MClass or iReady are selected for assessing students' achievement and grade level standards and monitoring their progress over time.  Our English Language Development and Special Education programs also use specific tools like Language Studio, English 3D, UNIQ Read Naturally, Read 180, Math 180.

  • The district provides a 1:1 iPad program. Students in grades K–5 are issued iPads for school use only, while grades 6–8 may take devices home. All devices are managed by the district, with internet content filters in place to ensure safety and compliance with legal requirements.

iPads are integrated as instructional tools to support learning, not replace traditional methods. They are used for short, structured activities such as practicing early literacy and math skills or engaging with interactive content.

  • Our District has adopted the California School Board Association’s (CSBA) recommended AI policy.

Devices: This year, the District is investing about $282,000 in our student iPad program, which works out to approximately $125 per student based on 2,300 students.  Due to limited use of iPads in younger grades,  purchasing new iPads for our older students and repurposing devices to the lower grades.  This investment supports three main areas: Student iPads and protective cases, device management and security, and online safety and content filtering.
