  • What does your PTA do?

    Every year parent donations to the Edna PTA directly fund programs and supplies that help make Edna an exceptional school. This year is no different. In fact, the Edna PTA is working harder than ever to create new ways to support our students and staff, and build community wherever our learning is taking place. Now, more than ever, your PTA donation is critical to the success of the school year.

    In a typical year, parent donations to the PTA fund: ALL Garden education and expenses, ALL classroom supplies, ALL library books, ALL PE equipment, and many community building events.

    In light of this incredibly challenging time and the reality of social distancing/remote learning, we have significantly scaled back our budget and are asking for a smaller donation to offset our fixed expenses as well as additional supplies relating to COVID (beyond the district-funded EPE). These include extra items for remote learning and also supplies for our eventual return to campus that will help Edna move learning outside. We want our staff and campus to be as prepared as possible to bring the best results for our children, and for the PTA to remain a flexible and committed partner in this difficult time.

    Our suggested donation is $200 per child this year (usually our suggested donation is $350/child). This annual donation includes a PTA Membership ($10) and an Edna face mask ($10). As always, any amount is appreciated and we understand this may be a challenging time for your family.

  • PTA Programs

    EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS & COMMUNITY BUILDING

    Art & Science Programs: Organizes and funds Maker's Night, Variety Show

    Library Books: Funds purchases of ALL library books and classroom educational books.

    Garden: Funds 100% of garden classroom educator salary, garden maintenance and curriculum activities.

    Parent Education: Funds parent educational events.

    School Events: Organizes and funds International Potluck Day, Book Fair, Movie Night, Cookie Decoration, Walk & Roll. Runs Spirit Wear and Yearbook programs.

    Communications: Maintains the school bulletin boards, marquee and publishes the Edna Weekly.

    FACULTY & CAMPUS SUPPORT

    STEM Initiatives: Provides classroom teaching grants for cutting edge educational programs.

    PE & Recess Equipment: Funds PE and recess equipment purchases.

    Safety: Provides emergency supplies for each class and student & Safe Routes for School.

    Professional Development: Funds annual teacher development programs.

    Principal’s Fund: Provides principal with a discretionary fund to support school and faculty projects.

    Campus Enhancement: Funds large and small campus projects- bulletin boards, front marquee, beautification, lost & found.

    Teacher Classroom Supplies: Provides each teacher with funds to support their classroom.
