    Formatting Long Quotations

    1. Quotations that are four lines or longer are not incorporated into the body of your text.

    2. These quotations should be set off from the rest of the text in a block of lines that is indented

one inch on both sides from your margins.

    3. Use single spacing for them.

    4. Long quotations do not have quotation marks—since they are not in-line quotes, they do not need the double quotation marks to set them off from the rest of your text.
