• Middle School Assistant Principal

The Mill Valley School District is pleased to announce our new Middle School Assistant Principal, Jonna Palmer. The District conducted a competitive recruitment process, with Jonna as the clear and qualified candidate for this position.

Jonna studied history at the University of California San Diego, holds a multiple-subject teaching credential from California State University East Bay, and a Master of Library and Information Science from San Jose State University. Jonna is currently completing her Master of Arts in Educational Administration at San Francisco State University.

For the past 20 years, Jonna has been a valuable asset at Mill Valley Middle School in the role of Teacher Librarian, and prior to that, she worked as an elementary school teacher in Richmond, CA, and as a daily newspaper reporter in Oakland and Southern California.  Principal Danny Chui shared, “I am grateful to be leading with a strong team at Mill Valley Middle School. The teaching staff remains exceptional, and adding one of our own to the administrative team will be an asset to our district. Jonna’s dedication to equity, knowledge of restorative practices, and strong relationships with staff make her a perfect fit for the AP position.”

Please help MVSD in welcoming Jonna as part of the administrative team at the Middle School, starting in August for the 2022-23 school year.
