    Bully-Proof your Kid! Parent Workshop: No Bully 
    7pm – 8:30pm, Location TBD 


    Parents learn what bullying and cyberbullying are like for the current generation of students, and what they can do to prevent their child from becoming either a target or a bully. 

     


    Tuesday, October 23

    Understanding the Intersection of School, Stress and Social Media: Ana Homayoun

    7pm – 8pm, MVMS 

    Teens and young adults typically use online tools to promote and maintain community, and with that opportunity comes potential challenges. Ana helps parents understand the evolving world of social media, and provides practical tips on how we can all work to make better choices around social media.

    Smart Phones: Jesse Pearson  

    7pm – 8pm, MVMS 

    Like any tool, smartphones can be both powerful and dangerous, especially when used by an inexperienced hand. This is an informative discussion on how to confront, manage, and make peace with your kids’ relationship with smartphones, social media, and technology.

    Why do traits like intelligence and drive seem to increase vulnerability to anxiety? How might our modern, connected world be exacerbating our anxiety? How can we teach our children not to fear their fear, but to harness anxiety as a motivating and protective force?

    Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America is a non-partisan grassroots movement of moms, dads, survivors, and everyday Americans who are educating, motivating, and mobilizing supporters to take action that will result in stronger laws and policies to save lives. Moms Demand Action supports the 2nd Amendment. Everyone is welcome regardless of political views or gun ownership status.
